What a technical result delivers
A bounded assessment states which version, use, data, tools and environment were tested; which controls passed or failed; which sample was used; and which risks remain. It answers an underwriter’s questions before they are asked, because the important exposures are documented consistently. That documentation is the policy-ready dossier at the heart of our insurability program.
The draft four-pillar score is a communication and decision aid. Its thresholds are not yet calibrated against claims or loss data. A score is therefore no loss probability, no premium indication and no promise that the agent is insurable — the dossier earns that conversation; it never replaces it.
What the insurer still decides
An insurer weighs the applicant, coverage wording, limits, exclusions, controls, incident history and its own risk appetite. It may request evidence beyond an agent assessment — or decline a risk despite a positive technical result. Cover begins only through a real policy, under its terms.
AIA Guard has signed no insurer contact, partnership or agreement. No policy, premium, capacity or automatic route from certification to cover exists today. The program builds the evidence standard first, so those conversations start from facts.
Keep the regulatory boundary clear
FINMA explains that offering or concluding insurance contracts — including advice aimed at conclusion — can be insurance intermediation, while merely providing data or information is distinguished. A future model involving quotes, recommendations or distribution would need specific analysis of the real activity and parties.
Evidence designed for reuse
Maintain a versioned scope, permissions inventory, test results, incidents, change history and remaining-risk statement. These records serve procurement and governance today and can answer insurer questions tomorrow. Their reuse never turns the assessor into an insurer or broker.
The draft’s quarterly review keeps the pack current, while important changes trigger earlier work. Independent certification review and insurance underwriting stay separate decisions by separate responsible parties — linked by one shared, honest dossier.
